I just received some questions from an integrator who deals with Loading Space Optimization. Maybe someone from DEV can look into this and comment on it?

• Does the Loading Space API support side-loading? Are there any workarounds?

  Our client's "must have" requirement is side-loading

• When stacking items on top of each other: how to ensure a proper gap between the towers?

  Too much horizontal space between items affects stability and can cause collapse when truck will make emergency stop or turn

• Proper unloading sequences...I'll check the provided API call...

  Unloading sequence settings quite often not working as expected and putting non-prioritized items on top of prioritized items. Our clients ship ... to Germany and there is not acceptable that client's forklift will deal with item relocation to get needed items out of the trailer and then put rest of items back.

I have already been given an answer to the 2nd question:

We do not suport the usecase with the gap between the loaded elements.

For your information: if you want to replay a given JSON request with the Loading Space Optimization API you can use the showcase which allows you to

• process a JSON message
• and to display the output

Here's some feedback about the side loading topic:

• Side loading is currently not supported by the Developer Loading Space Optimization API.
• Please check whether the xLoad2.packPositionedBins covers the specific need (technical concept / api doc)
