PTV Connector for xServer2 ?

Hi folks,

my customer is currently running xServer 1 on Premise, which is used for routing and tour optimization within a custom SAP solution for vehicle and tourplanning. To be able to connect SAP to xServer 1, we are using the PTV xServer Connector by ABAT (only the development component, i.e. API for calling the PTV xRoute and xTour).
Currently there are discussions to upgrade/move to xServer 2. I wonder if there is any comparable solution for xServer 2? Is anyone working with a SAP-xServer 2-scenario?

Hello Frederik!

The xServer1 had a long productive life and many integrators still swear by the features it offered. The recently announced end of maintenance for the xS1 will mean that many solutions will have to access

• PTV xServer 2
• or PTV Developer

in the future.

PTV itself no longer offers SDKs (aka xServer Connector for SAP) for connecting xServer 2 to SAP systems. For SOAP/XML and classic ABAP, xServer 2 SDKs for geocoding and route calculation can be requested from abat AG in Bremen (ptv-xserver-business-connector).

A completely separate topic is multi-resource optimization (aka xTour). PTV has presented a completely new solution for this with OptiFlow and is promoting it intensively as the optimization solution of the future. Whether there will be a xServer 2 SDK for the SAP integration of OptiFlow remains to be seen.

Maybe it is time for a quick update: in the meantime our partner ABAT developed a SAP connectors for xServer2.

Important to know: as of today this connector covers:

• xData2
• xLocate2
• xRoute2

...and...

• further modules such as xCluster2, xMatch2, xTour2 are not covered at this time - let us know if there's specific need!
• xMap2 won't be covered because SAP suports direct integration of xMap2 / REST services

In my opinion we will have to distinguish the following APIs / scenarios:
