Geocoding xLocate 2 differs from Map&Guide internet

Post by jerich »

Hello,

we are using PTV XServer 2.30 xLocate SearchByTextRequest to gather locations.

When entering the string "1 praha" we get 19 result rows:
xServer2.png
But when we enter the same string in Map&Guide Internet we receive a lot more than 19, depending on the settings made:
mapAndGuideInternet.png
Question
How can we achieve that? - So that we get the same number of results in xServer2?

This is a feature that is needed a lot. Our colleagues do not want to put in every postal code code. They want to have a list of all postal codes in the city and then check all the locations they need on the map. Like in Map&Guide Internet when you click on location you see it directly in the map so they can go through the list. The need comes up to have a full list instead of entering every single postal code or gettings just a few result rows.

We had a look at the post viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1393 but the answer did not help in this case. As stated above entering "1 praha" or "praha 1" does not return all postal codes starting with 1.

Hi Matthias,

here's what the technical product management told me:
Yes, the internal behaviour of xLocate 1 differs from xLocate 2. We kindly request you to get in touch with your account manager who can forward this requirement to product management. Maybe you can improve the search in the meantime by not only specifying a single digit but maybe 2 or even 3.
Best regards,
Bernd
