Where am I supposed to get the fastest info about security related news?

It would be helpful in order to be more proactive with our setup and keep things patched in a timely manner.

that is a good question and I'll forward it to the players who are officially in charge of this.
Probably you as an administrating guy are in charge of acting fast, e.g. once a CVE occurs...
