Enforce combined transports (PiggyBack & Ferries) in route

Post by Bernd Welter »

Hi there,

these days I was asked for piggyback and ferry handling in our components. There are at least the following interfaces dealing with this:
  • xIntermodal: with this server you can maintain detailed connections and schedules on your own. There's even a whole intermodal forum dedicated to this special usecase.
  • xRoute: is able to consider the ID of such specific "roll on-roll off"-relations whether they are based on ferries or piggy back. You can retrieve the IDs either from xMap or xLocate. :!: : this data does not contain dedicated schedules of the combined transports.
Picture that shows the geometry of a track that was forced to use as specific combined transport.
