- "What if the time interval in our current setup is more than 5 min? Then which profile?" - Answer: Well, the bigger the interval is, the more computation has to be done - and the more unlikely the matching will be in "global" mode. For "local" mode, this does not pose a problem.
- "Can we see record of this webinar after? I entered later. Sorry" - ANSWER: "Sure - we will provide the recordings soon at http://your.xserver.ptvgroup.com/webinararchiv_reg"
- "Can xMapMatch take elevation into account when determining road segement match?" - ANSWER: "No, it does not do this at the moment."
- "How does mapmatching work when coordinates are not on the map?" - ANSWER: "Well, if the coordinates can not be matched to the map (because there is no map data), the engine will skip those parts."
- "So when the coordinates are on 'water'?" - ANSWER: "Same as "no map data". The xMapmatch will try to "snap" the coordinates to the network, but if coordinates are too far away, they are skipped."
- "Where do you grab the posted spped limit data from? Google?" - ANSWER: "No, the speedlimits are from our digital map data."
- "A common issue for us is keeping up to date with the latest map data provided by PTV. So when new roads are built or existing roads are changed if we are not up to date with PTV map data we have problems matching. Could xMapMatch be hosted in the cloud by yourselves so that we're always using your latest data, rather than need to upgrade our local installation?" - ANSWER: "Yes, xMapmatch can be hosted in the cloud - and acutally is hosted on PTV's cloud offering xServer internet."
- "Could you assign other metadata to the matched point i.e. black spots/road hazards etc?" - ANSWER: "You mean adding your own data? If you have data which is somehow referenced e.g. by segment ids from HERE-data, you can add that data via a side-table. The xMapmatch will give you the segmet ids for lookup."
- "A bit off tpoic: Which control has Joost used in his demo-application?" - ANSWER: "its the xServer.NET control, this is availably for download in the Developer Zone."
- "Temporary speed zones such as school zones?" - ANSWER: "There are no temporary speed zones in the standard data."
