announcement: cleanInput will vanish from searchLocationsByText (end of June 2026)

Hi there,

I received the following info from our Product Management - only relevant for those who used the parameter "cleanInput"

Geocoding & Places API – Removal of experimental cleanInput parameter in searchLocationsByText
The experimental parameter cleanInput in searchLocationsByText will be deleted at the end of June 2026. Remove it from requests now to prevent disruptions when the parameter is no longer supported.

From the tech concept:

The experimental parameter 'cleanInput' will be permanently deleted end of June 2026. Based on usage data and feedback, we have decided not to promote it to a stable feature. Please remove it from your requests before then to avoid any disruption to your integration.

• This means that once this change is applied we will remove the parameter - which has never reached the stage of "released" - from the API.
• As a consequence requests that send this parameter after end of June 2026 will fail.

If you don't know what this means please do not hesitate to return to us for a proper clarification!
