Hello everyone,

as you all know, the Netherlands will introduce a new toll system.
In the Dutch market, the PTV TLN Europe City Map (HERE) data appears to be widely used. As far as I know, this map variant contains certain regional adjustments compared to the general Europe City Map version.

That's the reason why I have some questions regarding the TLN data:
  1. Will the new dutch toll data be included in the TLN map releases as well?
  2. What level of detail can be expected for the new toll ? Is it comparable with the german toll data?
  3. Do you have a timeline of updating the toll data for TLN in your cloud enviroment?
Thank you in advance for any information.

Regards
Christopher

Hello Christopher,

On a component level the Dutch toll will not be introduced to xServer 1, only for xServer 2 and Developer. The current version of TLNplanner works on xServer 1 and thus will not be able to deal with this. A new version of TLNplanner is in development that is based on PTV Developer. That version supports Dutch toll. The new version is already available for TLNplanner customers. We are working on the last few missing features and hope to swap around the start of 2026.

For component users this means they also need to swap from xServer 1 to PTV Developer. We do still support getting TLNplanner results out of PTV Developer. So simply need to use one of the predefined EUR_TLN_* profiles. See https://developer.myptv.com/en/document ... s/profiles for a full list of the available profiles. You will notice there that the TLN profiles are marked [PREVIEW] . This is to indicated that currently the results are not 100% exactly the same as TLNplanner since that is still using xServer 1. As soon as we switch TLNplanner to developer the preview tag will be removed.

To answer your question specifically:
1. yes, when we swap TLNplanner over to Developer that will be the official TLNplanner map. Developer already supports Dutch toll.
2. ATM it is more comparable with Belgium toll data. The current source data is not split into sections like the German toll. I don't know if that will change in the future.
3. The data is already there in Developer but it not made the official TLNplanner data yet. We are aiming for start 2026.

With Regards,
Joost
