Weather layer in xServer

Post by valdasb »

Hello,

We have a request from the customer to give a warning if strong winds are forecasted based on the itinerary (xRoute). And I found this: https://www.ptvgroup.com/en/solutions/p ... maps-data/
Storm and strong winds, heavy rain and hail, snowfall and black ice: Extreme weather can impact road conditions drastically. Should your drivers reduce their speed? Should you plan an alternative route to avoid steeply ascending highways? PTV xServer enables dispatchers to consider the weather in their planning and warns them if a planned route crosses a bad weather front. This enables them to change planned routes if necessary and inform customers of impending delays.
How do we enable and use this feature in xServer? How often the weather data is updated? What countries does it cover?

Hello Valdas,

PTV can offer access to the Weather API of METEOMATICS through a specific token.
Check the METEOMATICS API to gather more details about it's technical capabilities, interfaces and coverage.

https://xserver.ptvgroup.com/forum/view ... ther#p3772

Quick bullets:
- Native REST API
- additional client connector API's (JavaScript, C++, PHP, python and more)

Please get in touch with your regular PTV sales counterpart if you wish to get at trial TOKEN.

Best regards,
Bernd
