Corona: Test the Border Waiting Times (provided by SIXFOLD)

Post by Bernd Welter »

Hi there,

due to COVID-19 / Corona the situation at various border crossings has changed. But there are good news ahead: Together with our partner SIXFOLD we managed to integrate "Real-time information on transit times at border crossings" into the PTV xServer Internet.
You can test the data here (showcase section of Production). Just select the PTV_TrafficIncidents layer and apply the SNAPSHOT mode. Then you will see all live traffic infos. Navigate to a border and check the waiting icons.

The data is available both for
  • visualization in xmap
  • routing in xRoute
  • strategic planning
The product managements blog entry contains both
  • a detailed description of the datasource
  • a "how to" for programmers"
Thanks to the teams of Product Management and DevOps and of course to our partner SIXFOLD.

Best regards,
Bernd

Sidenote: the border waiting times are no longer available as a separate layer.

But our product management is very interested in improving the underlying data sources and maybe this data comes into the scope via the popular tomtom traffic data...
