Impact of heading on performance

Post by Bernd Welter »

Hi Sebastian,

one of our partners who uses the BCR for guided navigation faces some performance issues:
The section "Station2Segmentcenters" expects three parameters:
  • longitude
  • latitude
  • "the third one" - according to the codumentation this is a "heading towards North".
The customer experienced a poor performance when he does not provide the heading (maybe not available to him).
His BCR files contain several thousand via points and the navigation requires almost 10 minutes.
Well, on the one hand I wonder whether such a setsize can be reduced.
On the other hand: could you give us some insights into this parameter's impact on quality and performance?

Best regards,
Bernd

PS: I know that the BCR is described in https://xserver.ptvgroup.com/forum/view ... f=49&t=449 but unfortunately the text in the PDF is compareably poor.

On what platform is it used, with what kind of hardware?

I would need the sample file to do a investigation.
