Toll differences

Post by KZsolt »

Hey guys!

Could you please explain me the difference between the Toll, ExtraToll, NamedToll SegmentAttributes?

If im right Toll is the default additional cost for using the segment, ExtraToll is the bonus cost which is added to the Toll value, but what about NamedToll?

Thank you,
Zsolt

Hello KZsolt,

the meaning of the toll types is described here:
http://xserver.ptvgroup.com/fileadmin/f ... e.TollType

Maybe the following summary is helpful:
The computation of toll is not standardized but depends on the countries you are travelling through. Some countries even have different approaches how to compute the toll. Mainly there are three basic categories of toll
  • National toll: Major type for the country-wide national toll system. This parameter represents the common aggregation of all kind of national toll types.
    • Named toll
    • Section based
    • Distance based
  • Special charge: Major type for special charge toll (also known as "extra toll").This parameter represents the common aggregation of all kind of special charge toll types
    • Bridges
    • Tunnels
    • Ferries
    • International ferries
    • Mountainpasses
  • City toll: Major toll type for city (area) toll.
Let me know whether this describes what you need or what exactly is missing.

Best regards Bernd

Hello!

Thanks for the reply!
That summary holds all the information I've missed.

Helo!

I have a different question in connection to the previous explanations:

Lets say I plan a route in France which includes roads that have toll costs. As a result I receive a calculated cost value, lets say 30E, but none of the route.Segments has Toll,ExtraToll or NamedToll attributes.
I thought if the route intersects toll roads at least the segments can represent that, I was wrong?

Thank you,
K. Zsolt

Hello KZsolt,

is this an academic question or can you provide a set of request/response with this behaviour (please private message to me).

Best regards Bernd

Hey!

Well, it's an academic question, but if you say that should never occour than I can provide some XML files. :)
Can we make the following statement? : If we plan a route which includes a road part that has toll cost, at least one segment will have either Toll, ExtraToll or NamedToll attribute?

Regards,
Zsolt

At least 50% of our core experts would agree ;-)
The others didn't respond by now :ugeek:
