Hi there,
anyone who already tried to connect to xServer 2 via SAP webservices?
Any valuable experience worth being shared with the community?
Best regards
Bernd

Re: Who tried to work with xServer2 so far?
Dear Bernd,
to be honest I'd like to, but there is no spear time and no project. As many others we are fully satisfied with xServer1.
Only xMap2 (where xServer1 has some stitching-problems on map-tiles and with FeatureLayers as well) is actually ramped up and waits for connection to SAP by REST. But we are facing some problems actually with configuration and (perhaps) with performance.
You have three options, now:
- stay tuned until further notice (just take a nap)
- provide your expertise
- ignore me and my problem
Let's make a long story short! We like to see/use/feel xServer2 in the sandbox/laboratory asap, to check, test and evaluate were we have a surplus. As xMap is not so complex, it's the ideal candidate.
We will share our experiences . . .
Kind Regards

Re: Who tried to work with xServer2 so far?
Dear Bernd,
I just tried to generate consumer proxy by SAP-Standard-Transaction SE80 for xMap->RenderMap out-of-the-box via WSDL (URL).
That was in the past often a critical task, because SAP was not able to use native WSDLs without manual rework.
To my real surprise it works instantly. Many thanks to the guys from PTV-Development. Everything seems to fit to the SAP-Requirements and specialties. Great job!
I'll proceed with other xServers. As far as I know the xLocate is a little tricky to configure/setup properly, next in my sequence will be xRoute and other releases of SAP (e.g. 7.40). But first of all I need to have the xServer2 running without any issue (see my post from yesterday).
Meta-Data:
WSDL-URL = http://localhost:50000/services/ws/XMap/2.1?wsdl
SAP = ECC 6.0 (7.02 Level 6)

Re: Who tried to work with xServer2 so far?
Hello Mr.X,
thanks for the positive feedback (forwarded to DEV Teamlead
) and your further roadmap. I'm glad to hear that the integration of the services seems to work from scratch (once a server successfully starts) - I can remember times when it was a hard job to connect from SAP.
Let me know how I can enable you to set up your next milestones.
Best wishes,
Bernd

FYI
I just mentioned your positive feedback about the easy integration of the xmap2 into SAP.
Big applause from the team, thanks a lot!
Best regards
Bernd
